If anything, reading my "angry" response only helped you to bolster your own positive feelings for it, because you had a strong enough opinion to disagree. The nice thing about online publications is that you usually CAN give instant feedback like this, and I'm glad you did.

Because this comment thread is for a play called "A Play on Words," I think it's worth noting that we're still hung up on labels. "Reviewer" or "blogger," it's not as if my words are somehow worth more when I'm called the former.Aaron Ricciohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05003634532469211190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3300395900787148509.post-17805121361074000842009-05-28T14:47:32.954-04:002009-05-28T14:47:32.954-04:00You're probably right. It didn't read like a review to me just an angry person venting for some reason. When I was at the play it seemed like everyone was having a great time laughing and laughing. It was so much fun being in the theatre that night that it is hard to imagine someone feeling so hostile about it. I can understand some people liking something and others not. That's cool. I just didn't realize that he was actually a reviewer. My bad.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3300395900787148509.post-72909328301938453692009-05-27T02:44:40.004-04:002009-05-27T02:44:40.004-04:00Hey Anon,

Some of his reviews appear in print publications, some appear on his website. The only real difference is that on his blog there's no word count limit.

We do not weight reviews as a general policy here on CoM because we're trying to eliminate as much subjectivity from the (already admittedly subjective) process as possible. Also, I don't necessarily think that a review appearing in the Times should have more influence than what some blogger thinks.

Might I ask... would the equal weight thing bother you if you agreed with what Aaron was saying?Parabasishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00344587527624080394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3300395900787148509.post-81405331668171436942009-05-27T01:44:24.535-04:002009-05-27T01:44:24.535-04:00I've never seen this site before, but think the id...I've never seen this site before, but think the idea is cool. Like Rotten Tomatoes. I saw this play and loved it. It's hilarious and full of meaning. The night I was there people seemed to be loving it and laughing a ton. I'm curious why a blogger guy that I've never heard of counts as much as Variety or the Times. Seems odd to me. That's not how they do it on Rotten Tomatoes.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3300395900787148509.post-21373563512692801732009-05-23T13:24:41.119-04:002009-05-23T13:24:41.119-04:00Sorry I didn't see your review, Aaron. Not that I mind being in the minority, I'm just surprised.Aaron Ricciohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05003634532469211190noreply@blogger.com
